It's Here!

Back in March, Jorah of the Fingerless Glove Fanatics posted a panel from that day's Dilbert strip and thought it would be pretty nifty if one of us fanatics actually made some snake mittens (or, in our case, snake mitts).

I thought that sounded fabulous, and came up with these:

And, after some prodding and some help from some awesome test knitters, including The Reknitgade, cdaniele, Knitasaur, and Psst, the Dumber Than Snake Mittens pattern is finally available for download. For free!

Yarn Required: Approximately 220 yards of a worsted weight (Shown: Patons Classic Wool Merino in Olive - worsted, 100% wool, 1 skein/223 yards)

Supplies: 4 US size 5 dpns and 1 size 5 cable needle OR 5 US size 5 dpns (or size needle required to obtain gauge)
2 pieces red scrap yarn (for the tongue)
4 size 6/0 glass beads (for the eyes)
Size 12 crochet hook OR scrap thread
Stitch holder or waste yarn
Tapestry needle

Gauge: 4 inches = 24 sts and 34 rows in stockinette

Size: Medium to large. Glove circumference at cuff is 7 inches flat, 9 inches stretched. Adjust gauge to get preferred size.
