Other People's Patterns

This is how I usually go about knitting a pair of gloves:

1. Select yarn and needles.
2. Knit right-hand glove, writing down the pattern as I go.
3. Knit left-hand glove from the pattern to make sure it works.

This tends to get sticky when, instead of making something up, I attempt someone else's pattern:

1. Select yarn and needles.

No problem; I think this Rowan Tapestry is gorgeous.

2. Knit right-hand glove from the pattern to make sure it works.

Again, doable.

This is Diane Mulholland's Bronte's Mitts (available as a free PDF from her website), and it's relatively simple but elegant and gorgeous and I love it.

Only I can't get up the motivation to knit the left glove, you see, because I already know the pattern works. That territory has been explored. The pattern's perfect. Nothing new to see.

AAAARGH.
